SPOT Mini talk at SK Pulau Indah

Categories: our work,SPOT

On Friday 10 November, between 8.30-10.00am, SPOT carried out a mini talk at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pulau Indah, who were contacted by SPOT volunteers from the 2016 Puberteen workshop. The teacher in charge was PK HEM, Puan Hajjah Nor Aini Mohd Salleh. The SPOT Volunteers consisted of SPOT project lead Siti Aishah Hassan Hasri, SIPJ President Sheela Chandran, volunteers Kavidha and Bull.

The talk was given to 127 girls, who ranged from 10 and 11 years of age. They were joined by two teachers, including the school counsellor Puan Nun.

The girls were very enthusiastic, especially as the Year 5 students had a refresher from their SPOT PuberTeen Talk workshop and they were very happy to have us again this year. It helped with establishing trust and interaction with the Year 4 students, seeing their seniors’ active participation level.

The girls learnt most about STI through shock therapy and used the distributed training materials well throughout the session.

PK HEM requested for SPOT PuberTeen Workshop next year, in November 2018, after UPSR and the final exams.
